Yakiv Dumych

Yakiv Dumych, age 90, was born in Ukraine on August 20, 1936, and passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Yakiv was the beloved husband of the late Olha Dumych (née Bodnar); loving father of Halyna Klymko (Vasyl) and Oksana Dumych; dear grandfather of Olesya Forbes (James) and Orest Klymko (Olena); and cherished great-grandfather of Teona, Olivia, Jacob “Yasyk”, Isla, and Sophie.

He was the loving brother of the late Maria Bilan, the late Anton Dumych, and Nadia Romanets. He was the son of Ivan Dumych and Yevdokiya Dumych (nee Bahlai). Uncle of Halyna Bilan, Mykhailo Bilan, Vasyl Bilan, Lesya Shvets, Andrii Bilan, Olha Bilan, Nataliya Dumych, Roman Dumych, Nataliya Semochko, and Olha Salo.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with Parastas at 6:00 p.m., at Kozij-Lazuta Funeral Home, 5677 State Road, Parma, Ohio 44134. The date and time of the funeral service will be announced.
