James Michko, age 79, of Parma, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jim was the beloved husband of Jacqueline Michko, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage, built on love, dedication, and countless memories. He was a proud and loving father to Tracie Weber (Steve) and Vikki France (Tony). His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren: Jimmy Jarvis (Alice), AJ France, Cassidy France, Alyssa Weber, and Kayla McCormick (Bobby), as well as his four great-grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness. He is also survived by his dear nephew Thomas Michko (Beth). Jim was preceded in death by his cherished parents Alex and Anna Michko and his brother Thomas Michko.
For more than 50 years, Jim worked as a barber, a profession he truly loved. His barber chair was more than a place for haircuts—it was a place for conversation, laughter, and connection. Jim genuinely loved people, his customers, and the friendships he built over decades of service.
Jim had a deep love for Cleveland sports, especially baseball, and proudly cheered on his hometown teams. He enjoyed traveling, with special fondness for trips to Niagara Falls and memorable boat rides to Kelley’s Island. At home, he took pride in canning his famous pickles and peppers, a tradition his family will always remember. He also enjoyed relaxing with a cold Busch Light beer, savoring life’s simple pleasures.
Above all else, Jim was a family man—kind, hardworking, and generous with his time and heart. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the love he shared so freely. James will be remembered always for his warmth, his stories, his devotion to family, and the steady presence he was to so many.
