Edward G. "Eddie" Sullivan

Edward G. "Eddie" Sullivan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at the age of 68. While his family grieves his loss, they also celebrate a life filled with unwavering love, laughter, and devotion to those he cherished most.

Born on November 14, 1957, to the late John J. Sullivan and Mary Rodgers Sullivan, Eddie was the youngest of nine children. Growing up in a large Irish, Catholic family shaped the values he carried throughout his life—a deep appreciation for faith, family, loyalty, and staying connected to those he loved. He remained close with his extended family throughout the years, always making time for a phone call, a visit, or a family gathering.

Eddie graduated from St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland in 1976. In 1978, he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Jo Ann (Kanecki) Sullivan. Together for over 50 years, of which married for 48, they built a loving home, raising a family that became Eddie's greatest source of pride.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Ann; his daughter, Megan Boscarello (David), their children, Davey, Sal, and Julia; and his son, Sean Sullivan, and his sons, Padraig and Fionn. Eddie was a longtime friend of Bill W. Nothing brought Eddie greater happiness than being "Dad" and "Pa." Whether on the bench coaching or cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, taking family trips, or simply walking together through the Cleveland Metroparks, he treasured every moment spent with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Eddie also leaves behind his loving siblings: Mary Jo Connors, Margaret Chapman and Jean Dido, and his sister-in-law, Judi Zywiec, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him greatly. Eddie is now reunited with his late siblings, Marilyn Sullivan, Roger Sullivan, J.C. Sullivan, Rita Trimm & Rosemary Sullivan.

Throughout his life, Eddie found joy in the simple things. As a young man, he loved playing baseball. He was deeply proud of his Irish heritage, taking Irish language classes, traveling to Ireland on numerous occasions, and embracing the traditions and culture that meant so much to him. He loved spending time in the Cleveland Metroparks, feeding the wildlife, and caring for the many beloved dogs that were part of his family over the years.

More than anything, Eddie will be remembered for the love he gave so freely. He had a kind heart, a gentle spirit, and a genuine interest in the lives of others. His greatest legacy is the close-knit family he helped create and the countless memories they will carry with them forever.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing that love never ends, and Eddie's will continue to surround us every day.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 9 AM - 10 AM at St. John Basco Catholic Church 6480 Pearl Rd. Parma Hts. OH 44130. Funeral Mass at 10 AM. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
